Does anyone have experience with this tent from north face? Just got it on sale for $15 down from $150 during their holiday sale. It was too cheap to pass up but I know nothing about it. If it’s bad I’ll just resell and profit but I’m hoping it’s a good tent!
You got a STEAL! Try it out, if you don’t like it, sell it for $50

Cashier couldn’t believe it! The whole friend group got them. Can’t wait to try it out, thanks for the info
I have the 2 person of that model and i absolutely love it. Super reliable and easy to setup.

Awesome! My buddy got the 2P for the same price with me, he is a bit larger so I told him he should opt for more space. He will be glad to hear it
It is a great tent, btw
In my mind any $15 tent is a good tent.

Much better than a $15 tarp
I had a stormbreak 1 and sold it after 1 use. My head was touching the mesh on one side and my feet were touching the mesh on the other. I really did want to like it too. Would’ve been a great tent if I was a little shorter.
@Nico
How tall are you? Hope you had a decent return

6’1”.
It’s a good tent, but like most 1 person tents it has room for exactly 1 person. A long sleeping pad won’t fit, and if you’re over 5’10” you’ll be right at the ends of the tent. If you’re shorter it’ll be a nice cozy space, but if you’re on the tall side it’s a very tight squeeze.
@Vince
Not commenting on this tent, I believe your comment covered that, but I use a Big Agnes 1P and at 6’4" both myself and my wide long sleeping mat fit with room to spare. So if someone wants to go to a 1P tent it absolutely can be done, just look at the measurements and reviews.
@Phoenix
That’s good to know. I have the same tents as OP, so I know first hand that I don’t really fit in it!

I use a BA Tiger Wall UL 1P, the old model. The newer one is sold as “Tiger Wall UL1 Solution-Dyed Tent” with the difference supposedly only being the dye process. It fits me fine.
Many people seem to like the Copper Spur model, perhaps better, but I have not tried it.
Have been using that exact tent for spring/summer/fall backpacking for a few years now, I love it and I paid closer to full price! Quick set up and durable poles, pretty easy to pack up. I find it roomy and plenty long but I’m only about 5’5.
I’ve got the Stormbreak 3 - it’s been great. Have camped in all kinds of conditions, from full blown -25 C winter camping to +30 C summer camping. Has held up well over the last 7 years. My only complaint is the floor is no longer waterproof, think the TPU coating is coming off so in heavy rain it takes on water now.
The 2 person version gets rave reviews
I’ve used the 3 people version on - 5°C / 4800 meters above sea level, and men, it is worth it. Go for it. Even the resell value it’s good.
