Cheap outdoor clothes?

Hey I am looking for a brand that makes good quality jackets , fleeces etc similar to Patagonia.
I love Patagonia but I can’t justify £110 for a fleece

Decathlon. Their stuff is sometimes hit or miss, but is often brilliant for what it costs.

Specifically the Simond brand, it’s quite good stuff in general.

absolutely decathlon.

even amazonbasics essentials fleece are great.

Do you have access to a Costco? Know someone who can take you? At least in the US the clothing section is huge and there are tons of great warm options during fall/winter for very good prices.

I’ll have a look thank you. I’m in Uk so it’s abit harder to go

@Drew
Karrimor at SportsDirect then. SportsDirect brought the brand years back and the quality did go down a bit.

I moved to Norway years back, and admittedly do use money on expensive outdoor clothes, when I go back to the UK I do pick up gloves and socks etc from SportsDirect.

I’m in the US and found alpkit through bikepacking gear. They make nice stuff. Not as cheap as it was but still some great deals and the gear is good quality. Everything I’ve gotten I’ve been happy with

Alpkit prices have increased considerably since they became a bigger brand. I remember getting a down jacket from them in 2010 for like £40

However everything I have of theirs is top notch.

For fleeces/mid layers etc. i have always found regatta to do a decent job for a low price.

Yeah thank you

Decathlon

Become a member of SportPursuit.com.
They offer quality gear with high discounts.
No membership costs or anything but you do need to have an account to view the products.

Decathlon also offers some great products, I’ve only got experience with some clothing like a down jacket, fleece et cetera but it performs very well.
For a third or quarter of the cost of regular top brands.
Check YT for several recommendations by hikers.

Try Depop! Used Patagonia is still better than nearly every cheaper brand I’ve tried. Their stuff works and lasts forever with very good repair programs. In the US the Patagonia website has an option to buy items used too (“Worn Wear”); not sure if it’s the same in the UK.

Vinted. I got a merino wool hoodie & a raincoat with pit zips for about £10 each

Online outlets or used. Last seasons colors for cheaper, but still a premium product, or almost new stuff that is better as well.

Have many a Craghoppers fleece that have served me well the base model is a bit thin but there’s always a good number of colours and sales. Mine are all 10y+ old so can’t totally vouch for the modern product. Don’t know about their jackets.

Keela are someone who I got some trousers and shorts from this year and I’ve been happy with those and my Mum has a jacket she like so could be worth investigating.

Tierra, again not tried jackets/fleeces but happy with what I have from them. They along with haglöfs, Rab & cotopaxi are all about the same price point (~20% down on Patagonia)

Regatta are probably worthy of a mention because they do do reasonably priced outdoor wear. It’s not tip top technical and the price reflects that. (Again own some that over 10y going strong)

Deep sale rails at local indie stockists & vinted for second hand.
