Who else loves aluminum roll top tables for camping?

I have some like this made of anodized aluminum and they handle hot pots without any issues.

The benefit of aluminum tables is they’re safe for hot cookware straight from the stove. I also have a GCI folding table which sets up quickly compared to the roll top, which I now mostly use for river trips. For car camping, I prefer the quick setup of the popup table.

I wish they made these tables taller. As a tall person, they’re often too short and cause back pain.

I own a Coleman table and it’s been great with no issues.

I chose an adjustable aluminum table, great for uneven terrains. I use one for my stove and another as a table, both handle high temperatures well.

I have a couple of tables, one aluminum for cooking and handling hot pans and another plastic one that I don’t use for heat. I also have an Ozark trail kitchen setup that’s perfect for longer trips, especially when I want to keep the picnic table free.

I agree with that for large pots, but I’d like to place even a cup of tea or coffee on the table without worry.

Anodized aluminum, similar to an artificial rust but much stronger, is often used in cookware. I found a Coleman table left behind at a festival, which was great as a freebie. Though, I’d be upset if I paid retail and found issues like plastic end plugs falling out, creating sharp edges.

My brother has one, and it’s fantastic. I’m planning to buy one myself next spring.

I usually place silicone baking sheets on top of the table for heat resistance and to prevent slipping.

Honestly, I just set the hot pan on the ground until it cools. Since you’re already close to the ground with these tables, it’s not much of a stretch.
