What's the best way for homeless people to sleep in the cold?

I hate to say it, but I’m homeless in Michigan and sleeping outside because of health problems.

Although I don’t have many clothes alternatives right now, I want to dress appropriately since I’ve heard that you have to be careful about how you dress or it can get harmful. I get paid in a week.

I had on two pairs of socks in incredibly thin Converse, two sweatpants, a jacket with a beanie, and a thermal t-shirt with two hoodies.

Warming stations or overnight accommodations are occasionally provided by city halls or post offices.

Otherwise, hitchhike southward or find refuge by whatever means necessary. Homelessness is not acceptable during the Midwest winter.

For now, this is the only response. The temperature is dropping. In several areas of the state, temperatures have already reached freezing levels for the past two nights, depending on where you are. If you are staying in Michigan, you must find a shelter.

Thanks for the update. It’s definitely getting cold, and I’ll make sure to keep an eye on the weather. If anyone is in need, finding a shelter is crucial, especially with these freezing temperatures. Stay safe, everyone!

Invest in the warmest sleeping bag you can manage. Remember that the bag’s temperature ratings are quite optimistic. At least a 0 degree bag, in my opinion. You might be able to find one on Facebook Marketplace or used.

Indeed, sleeping bags are rated for survival rather than comfort.
