What problems do you have with your camping torches/lanterns?

I have a school project and need some data, if there’s anything you particularly like about your torches/lanterns that would be appreciated too. Thanks

My main complaint with most headlamps, if they count, is that they have an excessive number of settings. The most popular design (for low-cost headlights) features three to eight distinct lighting settings, and to turn the gadget off, you have to toggle between each one. That’s a lot of clicks on buttons. Two buttons would be ideal—one for the mode and one for on/off. Once the mode is set, you can turn the device on and off as often as you like, and it will always return to the mode you have chosen. In the absence of that, I would like a single button that just switched it on or off without any intensity settings, strobe lights, red lights, or other modes I almost ever use.

Mine remains on the last item used. I always use red though.

Which one do you have? I basically only use red, but I have to cycle through options on my current one (a 10ish year old BD). I dislike that it turns on white by default. Looking to replace.

I really like the black Diamond spot-R. However, take note of the right-side touch lighting toggle. Other than that, it’s flawless.
