I’m getting married. My fiancee and I would like to camp, neither of us have any gear. We need more mid-price gifts for guests. What camping gear would you recommend between $15 and $99, ideally under $60? Price is no object in that range (because we need to fill up the registry), but $100 items are already full.
@Valor
Exactly things like Tent or Backpack are something you can buy yourself. These items depend on $$$ how much you want to spend and what type of camping you plan on doing.
Car camping you’re not concerned about weight it’s all in the car.
Backpacking weight is everything!
Get the basics you can always take a Gift Card to a Sporting Goods store for future add on’s.
@Ainsley
I have two Ozark sleeping bags I’ve used in colder weather and I’ve never had any issues, obviously im not recommending them for hiking up mount everest or anything either

Look into the brand Ozark Trail its Walmart brand camping gear so pretty cheap but I still find it to be pretty reliable
Personally from someone who’s been selling camping gear for 35+ years. For around the same price or couple bucks more you can have better gear. Coleman, Kelty, SlumberJack. Nothing against Walmart and Ozark. But my son’s Ozark tent lasted 2 seasons and fell apart. He’s currently using my Coleman 10x10 Sundome tent which is on its 9 year.
In addition to the suggestions here, you can also just create a camping fund for people to donate too that way you can consolidate money and purchase higher quality gear on your own.
The state park system in my state has gift cards you can buy. We were gifted one for Christmas a couple years ago and it was pretty cool. We already had most of the gear we needed, but the state park gift card was unexpected
We registered at REI! Haha. Was awesome. we had all the house essentials so we asked for camping gear. Went super well. You could do like a cook stove, camp chairs, cots, sleeping pads, sleeping bag liners, headlamps, cookware, coffee press, cook pot, day packs, water filters, tent stakes, camp table, socks for hiking, utensils, tarp, and maps or guidebooks.
Camp Chairs, small folding table, picnic table tablecloths & those hold down clips, hand broom and dustpan, microfiber towels, welcome mat/rug for tent entry, foam interlocking mats or moving blankets for floor of tent, kitchen cooking/cleaning/eating/serving stuff, French press, fancy tea/coffee/hot cocoa, lamps/lights, headlamps, can/bottle koozies, tarp, tarp poles, Paracord, bungees, heavy duty stakes, trail maps, travel Scrabble, deck of cards, Uno, Yahtzee, dominos, Cornhole, wool blanket, Kelty bestie/biggie blanket, pillows, sleeping bag liner, mad libs, Morakniv companion, mini swiss army knife, tent stake mallet, first aid kit, liquid IV packets (if you do outdoor activities), reusable ice packs for cooler, bug spray/Thermacell backpacker with fuel canister, Hot hands (for shoulder season/cold nights)

Also, when I got married we registered for more stuff than we expected to actually receive as gifts. Post-wedding the stores gave us a discount to purchase items that weren’t fulfilled on our registry. We were registered at REI and Macy’s. Not sure if that discount is still a thing, but we used some of our wedding gift money to buy a handful of items with the discount that we really wanted/needed.
