Trouble Deflating Klymit V2 Mat Completely

I’m struggling to fully deflate my Klymit mat, which prevents it from fitting into its storage bag. It seems to deflate about 98%, leaving around 1-1.5 liters of air trapped inside. The mat has a flippable valve, and despite following several tutorials, I can’t seem to get it completely flat. Any suggestions? If all else fails, I might have to reach out to Klymit.

Try this method: with the valve flipped halfway, squeeze out the air squeegee-style starting from the foot end. Then switch the valve to DEFLATE, unroll the mat, fold it, and roll tightly again. Slow down at the end to allow any remaining air to escape. The storage bag should accommodate the mat if done correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tried that approach, and I still end up with a balloon of air near the valve. I’ve successfully deflated this model on other occasions and also have another one that doesn’t give me this trouble.

Avoid folding the mat before rolling it out completely at first to prevent air from being trapped. After the initial roll, unroll and then fold to finish.

I’ve tried both rolling methods. The persistent issue seems to be a pocket of air near the valve, even though the valve itself is clear.

This might be a valve issue. Try removing the flippable valve—it’s designed to be detachable. Check for any obstructions like a plastic film inside the valve that might be causing the blockage. Adjusting or removing this film could resolve the deflation problem.

That could be the culprit. I’ll give it a go and see if it fixes the issue.
