Seeking a Budget-Friendly Lightweight 2-Person Tent… Any suggestions?

I’m on the hunt for a two-person tent that’s lighter than my current Alps Mountaineering Zephyer. One-person tents feel too cramped for me. I’m aiming for something around 4 pounds and about $200. Any recommendations would be super helpful!

Here are some options: Durston X-Mid 2p, 3F UL Gear LanShan, Naturehike models like Star River, CloudUP, Mongar, Paria Outdoor Products Bryce, Arches, and Featherstone Obsideon, Teton Mountain Ultra.

I also recommend the Featherstone.

The MSR hubba hubba is currently discounted to about $250 on a popular online marketplace.

I’ve had a great experience with the Lanshan 2 Pro. It’s held up in several storms over about four years and kept me dry.

If you’re looking at the Durston xmid 2p, consider it, but the Lanshan 2p is also a good budget choice.

You might like the X mid dome 1+.

They should resolve the pole issue before I’d recommend it.

@Darwin
What’s the problem with the poles?

@Darwin
They’ve addressed that issue.

I’ll hold off on saying it’s fixed until we see how the new batches perform.

Eureka Suma 2 is a solid choice, often on sale. It’s lightweight, well-designed, and good value. I prefer it over my pricier MSR Elixir.

I almost bought a Suma recently since it’s been discounted a lot. Opted for a Midori instead.

I own a Suma 3P. Consider the Midori for better rain management with its fly.

I got an REI half dome 2 for about $200. It’s slightly over 4 pounds but very reliable. I’ve used it for years.

Check out Paria Outdoors. I have their Zion 3P and it’s fantastic, priced under $200.

Paria tents are quite light, especially if you share the weight.

I’d also recommend the Zion. Great tent overall.

The Durston x mid 2p is spacious and great for various activities.

The North Face Stormbreak 2 is around $200, a bit heavier but worth considering.
