M/L versus S/M packs

Hello everyone,

Being comparatively inexperienced, I want to acquire a 55 L pack because of its higher capacity. I’m wondering if there’s a strong reason to go with a S/M or an M/L pack as I wear an M.

For what it’s worth, the larger size is not on sale, but the S/M is.

Regards!

If you haven’t already, I’d advise you to measure the length of your torso before making a decision. The best approach is, of course, to try them on!

Although I believe the subject has already been addressed, in case my questioning was unclear:

I now own a brand-X S/M 30L pack. It is now positioned exactly in the middle of the Medium.

Is it reasonable to believe that the length of the straps is the only significant change between a S/M and M/L larger bag offered by the same brand?

Is this to indicate that the larger size will have more room to adjust up, perhaps with the addition of extra layers of clothing, while the smaller size will be more changeable down?
