I packed away my MSR Zoid 2 tent years ago, and now it has black spots inside and on the rainfly. I’ve already soaked it in a 50/50 vinegar and water mix, which helped a bit. I followed that by washing it with Revivex Pro Cleaner, but the stains remain. The seam tape is also yellowed, so I doubt it’s watertight. I’m considering sealing the seams from the outside with seam sealer.
The tent is 20 years old, so replacing it makes sense, but it’s been a great tent, and I’m reluctant to spend a lot on a new one. With a little effort and about $20 for seam sealer, I think I could get it functional again.
I’m planning a motorcycle trip through Mexico with plenty of camping, so I need to sort this out soon. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
Cleaning may not be the full solution, and considering it’s a 20-year-old tent and a long trip ahead, getting a new one might be worth it. The Zoid 2 was a great tent though—sorry it’s in this state.

Thanks for the suggestion. It might be time to think about an upgrade.
That tent has served well. You could try waterproof spray as a temporary fix. For a long trip, maybe look at a new tent with better reliability. I’ve had one similar for years, and it’s been great for outdoor trips.
