Hello everyone. I’m traveling and just discovered the source of the leak in my inflatable mattress. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good. I doubt there’s a way to fix this but perhaps someone here might have a suggestion. The leak isn’t where the valve connects to the mattress but in the valve used for deflation which isn’t sealing properly anymore. I also need recommendations for a durable sleeping pad as I won’t be repurchasing from this brand.
You might want to contact the manufacturer as this seems like a defect.

I plan on contacting them although it’s been about 7 months of use, so I’m not sure if it counts as a defect. There should be a warranty, which I’ll check, but since I’m traveling, I don’t have it with me and need to figure out the shipping logistics.
@Luca
This brand has excellent warranty service in my experience. I had a similar issue with the same model, and they replaced it swiftly with no hassle. Plus, supporting a local company feels good!
@Luca
Check the return policy of the store you bought it from. Some places like REI have a one-year return window. Maybe they’ll still accept it.
@Luca
Hopefully you can return it if it’s within warranty. I have a similar one from REI, and so far I haven’t had any issues.

They replaced a 12-year-old pad for me. I was shocked but happy that they sent me the latest model of my old pad.

That’s quite impressive!
Just get in touch with them. They’re usually very helpful.
All manufacturers have occasional defects. Give them a chance to resolve it. As for alternatives, I recommend Thermarest for their durability and competitive pricing. Their Topo Luxe model is a great option.
@Arin
Thermarest’s new NeoLoft model could be a great alternative for the Rapid SL, especially in colder weather. It looks comfortable and quieter than the other model.
@Arin
I’ve used this pad almost daily for 7 months before encountering issues. It’s decent, but I need something more durable. The internal insulation began peeling off, and I’ve started to notice tiny holes forming where the fabric stretches. I’m considering other brands for my next purchase. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Thermarest but I’ll do more research. I’ve also heard good things about Exped.
@Luca
It sounds like you’re here to vent rather than seek advice.

I’m sharing my experience to provide insight since I’ve used it for a while now. I’m looking for a solution to the valve issue as I prefer repairing over replacing. English isn’t my first language, so I hope my point is coming across clearly.
@Luca
Understandable, but don’t rule out warranty support from them. High-quality brands usually stand by their products to maintain a good reputation.

I appreciate that, and it’s good to hear about their strong warranty policy. It’s just that the product didn’t meet my expectations for durability. I’ll look for a more long-lasting sleeping solution as repeatedly shipping back for replacements isn’t ideal for me.
@Luca
I’m facing a similar issue with my replacement pad from the same brand, also leaking.
@Luca
For a quick fix, try placing cling film over the hole before sealing it with the cap, or use a piece of rubber from a kitchen glove for a better seal.
@Luca
Camping pads aren’t meant for everyday use. Every air mattress will eventually fail if used daily. You might need a setup with actual foam layers.

I wish they lasted longer. I use a foam pad underneath the inflatable one. This is my first time relying on such gear daily as I’m biking around the world and camping regularly.
