Yes, quite a few times. Seems like earlier posts were removed by the user.
Weight isn’t the issue here. I wouldn’t add something bulky like this to a chair that’s designed for ultralight backpacking. Plus, it’ll likely get damaged in the pack.

Exactly. Who’s carrying cans while backpacking anyway? It’s unnecessary weight, and you’d still need to pack the empties out.
@Tatum
It’s not just for cans; you can use it for your water bottle too.

Or I could just put the water bottle on the ground. Seems like the cup holder isn’t necessary unless it’s for a stationary camping setup, and even then, I wouldn’t choose an ultralight chair.
If you want something similar, there’s a free design on Thingiverse. Just find a local 3D printing shop and send them the link for a quote.
Helinox actually sells an official cup holder, and it’s cheaper.

But it’s heavier.
This is better for a 1L water bottle. I doubt anyone is hiking with a soda can when weight matters.

Or you could just reach down and put it on the ground.

I made a pouch for my 1L water bottle that clips onto the chair. It also works for small items like a phone or headlamp. It’s been super handy and adds practically no weight.

That’s what I use mine for—my water bottle.
The ground is literally right there. How lazy can you be?
Who is this actually for? Most people won’t carry extra weight for something like this. Plus, the design doesn’t seem durable for long-term use, and the markup for 3D printing is steep considering the simplicity of the design.
I don’t see why people are so critical. These chairs aren’t just for hiking—they work for casual outdoor use too, and accessories like this make sense in that context.
Great job on the design!

Thanks, I appreciate that!
I’m tall (6’4”) and have been looking for a chair with a high enough back to be comfortable. How does this one hold up for someone my size?
