Getting 50% off this tent… is it a good deal? What are your thoughts?

I found a tent on sale for 50% off. It seems like a fantastic deal, but I’m not sure. Has anyone else bought this tent at a discount? What has your experience been like?

I own a few items from Big Agnes, including a sleeping pad and a winter bag. They’re really well made.

Agreed. I have both the sleeping pad and bag and they are both exceptionally well-crafted.

Where did you find this deal? It’s important to ensure it’s from a trustworthy site because there are a lot of scams with this tent.

Absolutely, if it’s not from a well-known retailer, I’d be cautious.

If it’s from REI, then definitely grab it if you need a tent.

Can confirm this tent is 50% off at REI right now

REI is discounting this tent heavily because they’re removing all products with PFAS from their stores starting in 2025. They’re clearing out old inventory.

Is that the reason? I just bought the Nemo Aurora 3P for 45% off and I’m really pleased with the discount.

It’s a solid tent. I recommend getting the footprint as well. A two-person rating means it fits two people snugly. If you prefer extra space, consider the three-person version.

This is a great price for this tent. I suggest purchasing the footprint too since the tent material is quite delicate.

It was also available on Amazon a few days ago.

It’s a good tent, but the poles broke on mine after a few months during a long hike.

I’m not a big fan of the vestibule design, but apart from that, it’s a decent tent.

It’s a good, but very thin tent. It’s an amazing price and I’d definitely buy it. Be cautious in windy conditions as it can collapse. We had to replace the stakes with sturdier ones from MSR after the original ones bent in the desert.

Sounds like a good deal to me

I own this tent and absolutely love it.

I’m currently traveling through South America with the one-person version of this tent. It’s very reliable.
