Exped or Northface Sleeping Bag?

These two where the two sleeping bags that met my criteria:

Exped Megasleep Duo

North Face Wawona Double

I’m looking for sleeping bag with no PFC and no flame retardant, double size, and relatively affordable. Most PFC and flame retardant free sleeping bags cost $500 and above.

I’m not familiar with Exped but I’ve seen some good reviews. Where I’m at Exped is $180 the Northface is $205.

Comparing the temp ratings is challenging. The NF rates 20 degrees, but it doesn’t specify whether that number is for comfort, transition, or survival. Exped stands for 40/25/5. There is no indication of whether the ratings are EN. It must depend on where and when you intend to sleep.

With the 25F of Exped, I’m good. Simply put, what are the differences in terms of comfort, durability, and other features? To be honest, when I went shopping for sleeping bags, I had never heard of Exped.

I have one tent and four of their pads. But no sleeping bags. Everything I’ve purchased from them has been satisfactory, and their equipment is well-made and according to specification.

Nice. I’m now leaning into Exped. It seems they are pretty transparent to their materials and specs.

I have a couple of their products and I’m pleased with them, expedited. Furthermore, it is said to be warmer than the North Face bag.
