This setup might be too ultralight for this forum, but nicely done!

That’s a lot of pillow but not enough polycro and a 6ft tarp to be peak ultralight here. And don’t get me started on the Nalgene—total disqualifier!
@Blaze
The ultralight forum is too snobby for me. Plus, I can’t show off cool pics there!

They would roast you there for not having the latest Durston X or another trendy ultralight tent because anything over 2lbs is considered a sin.
@Mai
That headlamp strap looks heavy. Also, where’s the NU20 and its 35 minutes of battery life?

I love my NU25. Never had any issues with the battery life.
@Mai
I might comment on the tent as a potential area to save weight, but why roast someone for carrying a tourniquet?

Maybe he’s hoping to reduce his worn weight with that.

How can you roast someone for being prepared with a tourniquet?
@Frost
I’ve seen people argue that if you need a tourniquet, you’re likely too far gone to save, so why bother with the extra weight? Not a convincing argument if you ask me.

The same folks who won’t carry a tourniquet will have a Garmin inReach and not hesitate to call for rescue…
@Mai
Ultralight and ultralight junkie are not the same thing.

Seeing a stuff sack, I’d say ultralight is definitely out of the question.
The Kakwa is getting a lot of attention from gear reviewers. Make sure to load it up and test it on a few miles of hiking to see how it feels fully loaded compared to just trying it on at home.

Was the Kakwa one of the three initial bags you tested?
@Frost
No, my test included bags from REI, Zpacks, and Hyperlight. The packs felt different when loaded compared to empty. I ended up choosing the REI Flash 55 for its comfort when loaded, its padding, and airflow features, plus I got a great deal on it.
Where do you fit your food in that setup?

I keep snacks in the back outside mesh pocket and hip belt pockets. There’s also plenty of space inside for meals.
How do you like the tent? Is it waterproof?
