Is this a reliable company/power bank? EF ECOFLOW Powerstation Delta 2 1024Wh LFP 1800W for 399.99 (original $999.99) on Amazon. I don’t quite NEED this much for my rig, but is this, generally speaking, an insane deal for a power bank? I have an 800W already, but I could rationalize this purchase as it could be a good life-long investment. Let me know what you think!
EcoFlow is a reputable brand in the power station market. I own a smaller model (288Wh), and it works fine. However, no battery is a ‘life-long’ investment due to the nature of battery technology and eventual degradation.
@Parker
Agree with BVU. Batteries won’t last a lifetime, but EcoFlow is known for quality products. Just make sure to check which lithium cells they use. Samsung cells are preferred for their reliability.
Calling it a life investment might be a stretch. Technology evolves rapidly, and what’s new and efficient today might be outdated in a few years. That said, EcoFlow makes solid products.
The LiFePO4 battery in that model is rated for thousands of cycles, suggesting a long lifespan under typical use conditions. Such a large capacity might actually reduce wear over time since it’s not discharged as deeply with each use compared to smaller units.
@Wren
Cycles are different from actual lifespan. Most batteries degrade over time, regardless of cycles.
@Wren
And let’s not forget the electronics and other components in the power station, which may fail before the battery does.
That’s a great deal. I’ve used mine regularly for a year, even for powering a grill at a cookout, and it’s held up perfectly. Check for deals that might include accessories like a charger.
I’ve been using EcoFlow products since they were a startup. Their batteries are reliable for demanding applications like powering AV equipment in remote locations.
I had a positive experience with their customer service, which is best contacted via email. They’re active in responding to issues on their subreddit and Facebook group.
I manage the battery health of my EcoFlow by adjusting the charge and discharge limits. It’s a versatile system, especially for emergency power backup.
I’ve been rough on my EcoFlow for years, and it’s still going strong. I’m considering buying another one given the current sale.
I own a RiverPro 2 from EcoFlow, and it’s been very reliable. No issues at all with its performance.
While no battery will last a lifetime, EcoFlow’s products are solid, especially for the price. They handle high-demand appliances well, but remember, all batteries eventually need replacing.
Consider the warranty period as a guide to its lifespan. EcoFlow offers a five-year warranty, which is about as long as you can expect a battery to reliably function without issues.
This is one of the best prices I’ve seen for a quality battery like this. It’s a worthwhile purchase if you need reliable, portable power.
EcoFlow’s solar panels are also very efficient for the price. I recently bought a River 2, and it performs excellently for charging and running small devices.
