My dad and I recently reconnected, and we’ve been bonding a lot over our shared love of camping and hiking.
We’ve been talking about the trips we’ll be taking next year, and he’s given me some of his old gear he no longer uses. He’s also bought me an upgraded tent for Christmas!
I’m hoping to get him something camping-related for Christmas, but I’m stumped on what to get him.
I’m looking for suggestions of camping gifts under £50. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
High-quality versions of inexpensive things make for great gifts. Consider a nice pen (like a Fisher Space Pen), amazing fruit preserves (Bonne Maman), heirloom rose plants (David Austen), or a treat from a local bakery, chocolatier, or cheese shop. A splurge on something small but special will mean a lot to him.

Yes! Look up Caran d’Ache 849 pens. They’re very stylish, have a fun clickless movement, and are Swiss-made. They’re one of my go-to gifts, though not camping-related.
Check out the r/flashlight forum. People there have great recommendations and reviews on reasonably priced lights and rechargeable batteries for camping. Many experienced campers aren’t familiar with newer tech. For example, I had an LED lantern from a big box store that produced harsh white light. Thanks to r/flashlight, I found a more compact rechargeable lantern that adjusts brightness and gives a warm, campfire-like light.

Another idea for something to engrave — a long-handled camping spoon. Something like Toaks Titanium Long Handle Spoon. Titanium is lightweight and durable, though there are cheaper options too.

Firebuggz makes fun but unnecessary roasting sticks in various styles. We’ve got the Flipp Stikk, and it’s great for roasting marshmallows and such.
Also, try filled Ghirardelli squares for an amazing s’more. We’re a dark chocolate raspberry family.
A NiteCore mini LED camping lantern. It’s small like a lipstick tube but a great lantern for inside the tent. It’s lightweight and costs around $40 CAD.
