What’s the warranty like for this product?
Consider reaching out to North Face or even a tailor or cobbler for heavy fabrics. I’ve had success with all of these. Local REI stores might also help. While tape is convenient, I’d always go for a proper repair if possible.

Gorilla Tape. If you’re gonna fix it, go all in.
Find a local seamstress who works on bags and similar items. They’ll do a great job.
Duct tape might not be the prettiest solution, but it works!
