Hello everyone, About three to four months ago, I broke my hips. I had surgery, and I’m still recovering. I’ve accepted an invitation to go camping because I’ve been home for so long.
Since I’m still unable to walk, I’ll remain at the campsite and sleep in the car while my buddies explore. I have a mattress for sleep. Do you have any recommendations for equipment that might simplify my life?
I would also appreciate recommendations for cold, packaged meals because I intend to avoid cooking. I’ll be here for two days and one night.

Avoid doing it. While recovering from limited mobility and a major surgery like a hip replacement, unfamiliar and uneven terrain is a surefire way to get into trouble.

I’ve been there three or four times before. I’m just hanging out and not doing anything.

Could you use a cot or something to sleep on instead? Use your best judgment, but I’m not sure how comfortable sleeping in a car will be after surgery.
Since you’ll be stationary while others can wander around, I would bring a lot more warm items than you anticipate using.

Mobility is a problem, but there is no pain. I’ve discovered that if I flatten the rear row, I can fit in the back of my SUV because I’m not that tall.

Please get some rest and recuperate. I moved from bed to wheelchair to cane to gimpy walking after I crushed my pelvis.
I am aware of how annoying the lack of action is.
However, that scream following my first significant climb up to Klingman’s Dome was incredible.
I had prepared by going on shorter hikes with close friends. Take care of yourself. When you get back up, try to be patient and cherish every second.
